Etichub’s participation as a sponsor strengthened the dialogue between academia, industry, and young professionals, placing skin biology, emerging trends, and the new challenges of cosmetic testing at the center.
From 22 to 24 June 2026, the University of Pavia hosted the Skin Summer School, an event that once again confirmed its role as a key point of contact between academia, industry, and young professionals in the cosmetics sector. Etichub took part as a sponsor, contributing to an initiative that continues to stand out for its scientific and educational value.
This year’s edition, titled “Rethinking Cosmetics: AI, Process Innovation & Testing”, focused on the relationship between scientific innovation, new evaluation methods, and the transformation of industrial processes. In a fast-changing cosmetics landscape, events like the Skin Summer School offer a privileged setting to observe current trends and turn them into concrete strategies for research and development.

Etichub’s scientific contribution
Etichub’s contribution centered on the scientific dimension of the event, with a strong focus on skin biology, the key drivers that influence skin condition, and the importance of accurate testing. In today’s market, where product development is increasingly shaped by efficacy, personalization, and evidence-based claims, a solid understanding of skin is essential to designing reliable tests and interpreting results correctly.
The presentations delivered by Professor Paola Perugini and Dr. Camilla Grignani offered two complementary perspectives. One explored skin biology, formulation dynamics, and market trends; the other looked at skin as a complex system influenced by environmental and behavioral factors. Together, these insights reflected Etichub’s approach: combining scientific expertise with the ability to translate knowledge into precise and meaningful assessments for the industry.
A particularly relevant point raised during the event was the difference between European skin and Korean skin, not only in terms of market perception but also in characteristics, expectations, and testing approaches. Understanding these differences is essential for developing more targeted product strategies and more effective evaluation methods, avoiding overly generic interpretations.

Networking and exchange
Alongside the scientific content, the Skin Summer School also provided opportunities for networking and exchange among professionals, companies, and students through formats such as meet&hit and speed date. These moments encouraged dialogue and the sharing of ideas in a dynamic environment focused on innovation.

Etichub’s added value
Etichub’s participation in the Skin Summer School confirms its role as a bridge between scientific research and industrial application. Being present in these contexts means helping to shape a more informed and evidence-based cosmetics sector, while staying close to the places where the next generation of skills and expertise is being built.
The 2026 edition of the Skin Summer School was therefore not only a training event, but also a space for scientific dialogue and collaboration, essential elements for the future development of the cosmetics ecosystem.
